Dataset description

This dataset contains the perimeter of Rapid Submersions Plans (PSRs) of the Aquitaine region. The Rapid Submersions Plan (PSR) is a national and interdepartmental plan validated on 17 February 2011, following the flooding by storm Xynthia on 28 February 2010, and then due to the sudden floods in the Draguignan area, Var, on June 15, 2010. It covers the risks of flooding by sea submersions, sudden floods or localised runoffs and breaks of dikes. This plan on rapid submersions is an emergency mechanism designed to increase the safety of populations in the areas of danger mentioned. Its objective is to encourage the various territories to develop and implement prevention projects in order to guarantee, as a priority, the safety of people vis-à-vis these hazards, through a pragmatic approach, including also one-off projects but in coherent areas, risk basins. The SRP is divided into four axes: — control of urbanisation and adaptation of existing building; — improvement of knowledge of hazards and systems for monitoring or forecasting, vigilance and alerting; — reliability of structures and protective systems; — improving the resilience of populations __Origin__ Detailed genealogy information is provided in the report accompanying the maps and the GIS Flood Directive.
