Bilingual street signs in Mulhouse

This dataset identifies the routes of Mulhouse that have a bilingual denomination (French and Alsatian). The EXISTANT BILINGUE PLAQ field indicates whether the placement of the bilingual plaque is effective on the street. As part of the promotion of the regional language and culture, bilingual signage, in French and Alsatian, developed in Mulhouse since the early 1990s, making it a pioneer in Alsace. Since the first bilingual plaque inaugurated for rue du Sauvage/Wìldemànnsgàsss in 1991, 266 have been installed to date. The Dankfàwrìk’s Thematic Working Group on Bilingual Plaques, Mulhouse Regional Language and Culture Advisory Commission, is conducting concerted reflections to develop the designations of paths, passages, streets and boulevards in different areas of Mulhouse.
