Dataset description

This layer contains the polygons of the buildings on Rennes Métropole. This is a repository data layer for the community. On the territory of the City of Rennes, buildings (with a floor area exceeding 30 m²) are seized continuously from building permits (at the opening of construction sites) and from topographical and orthophotographic bases. On Rennes Métropole (outside of Rennes), the data came from an initial photogrammetric restitution of 2011 and were updated with recent aerial shots. The last update of the buildings outside Rennes was based on an aerial orthophotography carried out in 2018. The right-of-way of the building corresponds to the projection of the gutter on the ground. The buildings are divided according to cadastral land units (contiguous parcels belonging to the same landowner). The unique identifier of the building consists of the concatenation of the Insee code of the municipality and an increment. Example: 35238_045894 (building on the city of Rennes). This identifier makes it possible to link to the layer of roofs used to render buildings in 3D. The attribute “type_bati” allows to specify the destination of the buildings present only on the city of Rennes. The values of the “type_bati” attribute are as follows: ‘Commercial building’, ‘light building’, ‘Private building’, ‘Public building’, ‘Parking’. On the other municipalities of the metropolis, this attribute is nullified. In 2022, Rennes Métropole will study changes in the structure and techniques of updating this data layer.
