Dataset description

The shoreline corresponds to the leash of the highest seas in the case of an astronomical tide of 120 coefficient and under normal weather conditions (no offshore wind, no atmospheric depression likely to raise sea level). The product TCH models this theoretical entity by a set of 2D polylines. The Histolitt coast line is available on the Metropolis and Corsica and the DOM __Origin__ The TCH is composed of elements from: — elements from TC25000. The TC25000 is the result of scanning by a Marine Card operator at scales higher than 1/25000. In some port areas, 1/5000 scale maps have been used. For the Landes coast area, only maps at 1/50000 are available. The charts used are taken from the Shom portfolio of 1992. The Coastline of Shom’s Marine Cards uses: i. photogrammetric restitution of Shom ii. topographic minutes iii. IGN cards at 1/25 000 — elements of the class [leash cut] of the product BDTOPO? Country version 1.2 whose value of the attribute “NATURE” is “High Seas”. — elements entered in 2D on BDOrtho image background?. The process involves updating the TC25000 from TCBDTOPO and BDOrtho?. The result obtained is the TCH. The most up-to-date versions of TCBDTOPO and BDOrtho? at the time of this production process have been used. During this process, the topology was built: continuity of the TCH which is nevertheless cut into several polylines at remarkable points of the rib line. The islands represented in a surface form are closed polylines. The sections of identical attributes are merged. This production process was implemented from 15 September 2006 to 14 April 2007. __Partner organisations__ SHOM, National Geographical Institute (IGN) __Links annexes__ * [portal d' Geographical Information of Shom](https://data.shom.fr) * [HISTOLITT® La Réunion Coastline Download Service](https://services.data.shom.fr/INSPIRE/telechargement/prepackageGroup/TCH-PACK_DL/prepackage/BDML_TCH_REUV1/file/BDML_TCH_REUV1.7z) [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/5963a6099d7ec69f3214a440f4c6743526f0bb48)
