Dataset description

The corn root chrysomela, Diabrotica virgifera virgifera, is a small beetle of about 7 mm in the Chrysomelid family. She performs her reproductive cycle in one year. Eggs are laid in the soil during the summer and are kept there during the winter. Adults die with the first cold. Eggs hatch in early spring and larvae nymphosate. Adults emerge from June to September depending on the regions and climatic conditions and mate during the summer. The larva moves very little (a few meters). The factors involved in the movement of adults are numerous: climatic conditions, presence of maize, natural barriers, dominant winds... The displacement distance can therefore be more or less significant (up to 40 km). Human activities, road transport and the presence of airports... also influence the displacement of this pest. Corn chrysomela is native to Central America. From the 1950s, it progressed north on the American continent to become the main pest of maize on that continent. Chrysomela was introduced to Europe certainly by air routes during the Balkan conflict in the 1990s. First reported in 1992 on the outskirts of Belgrade Airport (Serbia), it quickly conquered many European countries since, including our neighbouring countries. The trapping campaigns up to 2009 showed by their results that it was more possible to eradicate this organism, it was more possible to eradicate it and that #x27; a containment zone should be defined as early as 2010 in which specific control measures are to be prescribed in order to limit its spread to free regions. This containment zone is positioned less than 40 km west of the Rhine and consists of three " zones, namely: — an enhanced control zone, the limit of which is 1 km around the catch site of more than 30 adults of diabrotica virgifera virgifera the tale. — a zone of additional measurements of a radius of 1 km also around the catch site of 1 to 29 adult chrysomeles. — the containment zone with an external boundary positioned within 40 km west of the Rhine. The chrysomèle was deregulated at European level on 06/02/2014, and at French level on 18/07/2014. __Origin__ The distribution of eels was analysed by taking into account the presence of eels during the surveys by electric fishing (data from the Hydrobiological and Piscicol Network (RHP) of ONEMA for the period before 2007) by distinguishing the colonising (<30cm) and sedentary (>30cm) stages. The active zone is characterised by the presence of individuals less than 30 cm, which shows recent colonisation (less than 5 years).
