Dataset description

The indicators are based on data from the Student Monitoring Information System (SISE), which lists enrollment (SISE enrollment) and graduates (SISE-Results). The field covers all French universities (including the University of Lorraine which became a major institution in 2011, the University Institute of Albi, the CUFR of Mayotte and the University of French Polynesia but not including the University of New Caledonia (data not available in 2015-2016)). These indicators are calculated on the basis of administrative enrollment, not an actual presence of the student. They can therefore be negatively biased. ### Passage into second year in one or two years ### License The indicator field consists of the 2014 Bachelor’s degree students enrolled in 2014-2015 in the first year of a bachelor’s degree (excluding professional license) in public higher education. Excluded are students who have taken parallel enrollment in STS, DUT or CPGE. The indicators are calculated by reporting student numbers: **Base (denominator)**: field students enrolled in the first year of a bachelor’s degree (excluding professional licenses) during 2014-2015; **Second year transition (numerator)**: basic students (denominator) enrolled, regardless of the host institution, in the second year of the bachelor’s degree: during the year 2015-2016 (passage in one year); during the year 2016-2017 (passage in two years). Precision on multiple inscriptions: if a student is enrolled in several institutions during the years 2015-2016 or 2016-2017 and if his or her situation is not the same in these institutions, it is the most favourable situation that is retained (passage in the second year then redoubled and then redirected). **Replication (numerator)**: basic students (denominator) re-enrolled in the first year of a bachelor’s degree during the year 2015-2016, regardless of the host institution. **Reorientation to DUT (numerator)**: basic students (denominator) enrolled in the first or second year of DUT during the year 2015-2016 (passage to DUT after 1 year) or during the year 2016-2017 (passage to DUT after 2 years), regardless of the host institution. ### Obtaining the license in three or four years The indicator field consists of the 2012 bachelor’s degree students enrolled in 2012-2013 in the first year of a bachelor’s degree in public higher education. Excluded are students who have taken parallel enrollment in STS, DUT or CPGE. The indicator is calculated by reporting student numbers: **Base (denominator)**: field students enrolled in the first year of a bachelor’s degree during the year 2012-2013; **Successful in 3 years (numerator)**: basic students (denominator) who graduated from the (possibly professional) bachelor’s degree in the 2015 session, whether or not in the institution or discipline of enrolment in the first year; **Successful in 4 years (numerator)**: basic students (denominator) who graduated from the Bachelor’s degree (possibly professional) in the 2016 session (without having obtained it in the 2015 session), whether or not in the institution or discipline of his enrolment in the first year.
