Dataset description
Detail and location of the city’s bike paths, with details of the traffic direction, the width of the cycle path, and the name of the section.
Potential uses:
With the help of this dataset, the citizens of the municipality will be better able to identify bike paths and move safely in the city. The dataset could also be used to identify areas where cycling traffic can take place without problems, and where, due to lack of infrastructure, this is impossible.
Thus, the municipality could optimally identify the places where work should be carried out, with a view to developing bicycle transport.
Content of the data:
The data collected indicate the geographical location of the runways, the name given to the section, the direction of the cycle path, the width, the Saint-Marcellin INSEE ID, the most recent renovation date, the lighting, the authorised speed limit if the runway is on the pavement.
Collection process:
The data was mainly collected using OpenStreetMap data; the municipality then provided us with a map of the road network to give us the identification of the tracks, their direction and other information relating to local road traffic.
Update frequency:
The dataset will have to be updated after each work performed on the bike paths, to take account of extensions or deviations.
Content of the data:
The data collected indicate the geographical location of the runways, the name given to the section, the direction of the cycle path, the width, the Saint-Marcellin INSEE ID, the most recent renovation date, the lighting, the authorised speed limit if the runway is on the pavement.
Reasons for the production of these data:
These data sets serve to better understand the challenges of cycling in San Marino: identifying bike paths already ready allows us to open up avenues for reflection on their development, in particular through potential extensions.
