Dataset description

The Department of Saône-et-Loire pursues an active policy of digitising its archival heritage and making available, via the Internet, digitised resources and databases of the Departmental Archives. More than 4 million images can be consulted on www.archives71.fr (civil status, population census lists, military registers, plans, postcards, photographs, heritage inventory, cadastral plans, section states...). This desire to disseminate is illustrated by the provision, in Open Data, of four databases and images, illustrating in particular the Saône-et-loirien territory: — **plans of the 19th cadastre** s: made in 1808 to end, for the later, around 1850, the plans of the ancient cadastre known as Napoleon are an essential resource for the history of terroirs, property and people. — **postcards**: landscapes, characters, sites, monuments of Saône-et-Loire, more than 10,000 images and their description are available via this dataset. — **air photography**: photographs taken during photographic campaigns carried out between the late 1950s and 1968 by the photography company Roger Henrard and acquired by the Department of Saône-et-Loire. These aerial views fix the image of cities rebuilt after the Second World War and the evolution of landscapes. — ** heritage inventory**: this database concerns the remarkable buildings and objects of Saône-et-Loire identified as part of the departmental inventory, from the 1960s to the 1980s, by Raymond and Anne-Marie Oursel.
