Dataset description

Sub-communal databases cover all IRISs in the municipalities divided into IRIS, regardless of whether these municipalities have more or less than 10,000 inhabitants. They also contain data at municipal level, for municipalities not divided into IRIS, in order to cover the whole territory. There are three types of IRIS: \- habitat IRIS: their population is generally between 1,800 and 5,000 inhabitants. They are homogeneous in the type of habitat and their boundaries are based on major cuts in the urban fabric (main roads, railways, rivers, etc.); \- activity IRIS: they have around 1 000 employees and have at least twice as many salaried jobs as the resident population; \- Miscellaneous IRIS: these are large specific areas that are little inhabited and have a large area (recreation parks, port areas, forests, etc.). Of the IRIS, 92 % are habitat IRIS, 5 % are active IRIS and 3 % are various IRIS. The bases for IRIS are organised according to five themes: \- Resident Activity (ACT) \- Diplomas — Training (FOR) \- Couples — Families — Households (FAM) \- Housing (LOG) \- Population (POP) 2017 data are distributed according to the geography in effect as of January 1, 2019. The 2018 data are distributed according to the geography in effect as of January 1, 2020. The resources available in this dataset have been filtered on Occitania IRIS only. **Digitalised IRIS funds by department in Shapefile format can be retrieved here:** https://ckan.openig.org/dataset/iris-ge-occitanie-2020
