Defence budget broken down by national accounts headings

Year 2008In the sense of the national accounts, defence is a public service financed by the State budget. As with any non-market service, the production of this service is measured by its cost of production. The defence satellite account transcribes the masses of execution of the defence budget. This expenditure is broken down by DGIP according to the national accounts nomenclatures in force. The production of the defence service is equal to the sum of intermediate consumption and value added, made up almost entirely by the remuneration of employees.
