Dataset description

Data from the following digital consultation campaign: “Public spaces around the Gare du Nord” The consultation was open on idee.paris from 6 February to 20 March 2019. In the run-up to the 2024 Games, Gare du Nord and its surroundings will be redeveloped. The first Parisian railway station with 700,000 daily travellers, suburbs and main lines; it will be completely restructured to accommodate a new terminal departure Grandes Lignes and Eurostar by 2023. Commercial spaces, co-working, showroom, gym and green areas on the terrace are also provided. Under the jurisdiction of the City of Paris, the development of the outskirts of the station concerns the perimeter north of Rue La Fayette and Boulevard Magenta, located between Rue de Maubeuge for its western boundary and Rue du Faubourg Saint Denis for its eastern boundary. It also includes the southern outskirts of the Lariboisière Hospital. The station/city link is crucial and the layout of the vicinity of the station must be done taking into account the inhabitants and the life of the neighborhood. Initial reflections on the public spaces surrounding the station (main square of the station, rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis, rue de Maubeuge, etc.) made it possible to determine development objectives. This includes ensuring a high-quality service for all modes of travel, in particular to the facilities, shops and activities of the sector, but also to enhance the neighbourhood by creating a development that enhances the living environment. Parisians were able to submit on idea.paris their contributions to the project.
