[DREAL OCCITANIA] Coastline 2015 _ Satellite Images

The Pleiades constellation of satellites allows you to have images ideally combining wide coverage, high resolution (50 cm) and high update frequency: every point of the national territory is overflyed every three to four days, with a resolution of 70 cm. L'IGN ensures the ortho-rectification of images, to constitute " satellite orthos ". Vectorisation of the coastline from 2014 coastal satellite images was carried out by CEREMA on behalf of DREAL Occitanie. The coastline here corresponds to the middle of the shore jet (*); a smoothing was carried out to obtain the final route. The work done on a test area was used to assess a fine level of accuracy, in the order of the metre. (*) The bank jet corresponds to the net of water rising on the instantaneous foreshore following the last flooding. The return jet corresponds to the backwash.
