Dataset description

Census of traffic signs delimiting the entrances (EB10) and exit (EB20) of agglomeration in the Department of Calvados. The agglomeration limits are fixed by the mayor’s order. They establish the location of the entrance and exit signs of agglomeration on a section of the road, resulting in a maximum speed to be respected by vehicles: ≤ 50 km/h in agglomeration. The limits of agglomeration determine the respective powers of the mayor and the president of the departmental council in matters of traffic police (Articles L 3221-4 and L 3221-5, L. 2213-1, L. 2215-1 of the General Code of Local Authorities, R.411-5 of the Highway Code) and maintenance (Articles L. 131-1 et seq. of the Road Traffic Code). **Collection context** Since 2002, the Department of Calvados has operated a Geographic Information System (GIS) with a road component and regularly produces data that is spatialised in the Road Geographic Information System (SIGR), as part of the monitoring of its management, maintenance and development policy. **Collection method** The departments of the Calvados Road Directorate take over the entrance and exit signs of agglomeration located on the departmental public road domain by means of a GPS. The Calvados Department’s Geographic Information Hub imports GPS-based geolocation data and generates a vector layer of points locating each entry and exit panel in agglomeration. **Attributes** | Champ | Alias | Type | | — | — | | — | | ‘objectid’ | ‘int4,PrimaryKey’ | | ‘axis’ | Route | ‘varchar’ | | ‘plod’ | Point of reference beginning | ‘varchar’ | | ‘ABSD’ | Abscisse Beginning | ‘Numeric’ | | ‘libelle_agglo’ | Common wording of the agglomeration | ‘varchar’ | | ‘type’ | Panel type | ‘varchar’ | | ‘sens’ | Sense | ‘varchar’ | | ‘commune_de’ | Common recipient | ‘varchar’ | | ‘door_entree’ | Agglomeration entrance door | ‘varchar’ | | ‘date_porte’ | Date set up door agglo | ‘timestamp’ | | ‘date_leve_gps’ | ‘timestamp’ | For more information, see [the metadata on the Isogeo catalog](https://open.isogeo.com/s/434296189d794266a04a8678e256f0c4/HiLeps3y1qrSx6aTDmKyp0spGPix0/r/7d01ae076ae747ebb5259f1bb6c059f1).
