Dataset description

The management of aquatic environments and the prevention of floods (GEMAPI) is a compulsory competence, from 1 January 2018, to public institutions of inter-municipal cooperation with own taxation (EPCI-FP: metropolises, urban communities, communities d’' agglomeration, communities of communes) by the decentralisation laws n°2014-58 of 27 January 2014 (law MAPTAM) and n°2015-991 of 7 August 2015 (Law NOTRe). These EPCI-FPs can entrust the exercise of all or part of the GEMAPI to a mixed union. In order to favour a coherent and relevant hydrographic scale approach, the law offers municipalities and their own tax groups the possibility to entrust the GEMAPI competence to: — mixed ‘classic’ watershed unions, as they exist today; — EPTB (Territorial Public Basin Establishments): mixed trade unions in charge of coordination missions at the level of watershed groupings and project managers of projects of common interest. What is GEMAPI? The GEMAPI competence consists of the missions referred to in 1°, 2°, 5° and 8° of I of Article L.211-7 of the Environmental Code, namely: 1° L' development of a basin or a fraction of a watershed; 2° L' maintenance and l' development of a water, canal, lake or plane of #x27; water, including access to that course of #x27; water, canal, lake or lake; water; (5) Defence against floods and against the sea; 8° The protection and restoration of sites, aquatic ecosystems and wetlands as well as riparian forest formations. To go further: see Pope Thiam Biteye’s Internship Report in Associated Resources __Origin__ As part of the implementation of this new compulsory competence, a trainee was recruited at the DREAL Pays de la Loire in summer 2018 by the Natural Resources and Landscapes Services (SRNP) and Natural and Technological Risks (SRNT). The objective of the internship was to produce a mapping of the competent authorities in GEMAPI in the Region. In order to obtain the information needed for the mapping, the trainee is close to the DDT(m) 44, 49, 53, 72 and 85. It was also supported by the Land Knowledge and Environmental Assessment Service (SCTE) for the geomatics/data management part. The mapping, the result of this collaboration, is made available on this site by the SCTE. It will be updated annually following future developments in the structuring of GEMAPI authorities.
