Dataset description

Archive containing royalty-free logos relating to French municipalities. The names and URLs are derived from the tool [GeoZones](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/reuses/geozones/) and its [associated data games](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/geozones/). Files are downloaded from [Wikimedia](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page). There are 12112 coats of arms or logos for the 2017 version. These logos are then reused on data.gouv.fr for municipal detail pages (e.g. [Rennes](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/town/35238/)) The logo recovery source code is [published on Github](https://github.com/etalab/geologos/). ## History — **10/05/2019**: version 2019.0 — **19/04/2016**: release version 1.0 — **09/04/2017**: release of version 2.0 — **11/04/2017**: release of version 2.1 — **15/06/2017**: release of version 3.0 corresponding to the [2017 GeoZones publication](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/geozones/).
