Dataset description

2005 census of Grand hamster terriers occupied in Alsace in the parcels of winter cereals (10 meters between two enumerators) and alfalfa (3 meters between two enumerators) to find out the status of the populations. The number of burrows identified under this semi-exhaustive protocol validated by the ONCFS in 2000 is an index of abundance. __Origin__ The Grand Hamster has been regressing throughout Western Europe for about twenty years. Since 1992, it has enjoyed the status of a “strictly protected” species at European level. In France, he has been protected since 1993. In this context, a national conservation plan specific to the Grand Hamster has been implemented since 2000 (Plans 2000-2004, 2007-2011 and 2012-2016). Monitoring the populations of the species is one of the main areas of work. Based on the identification of occupied burrows, it aims to ensure sufficient knowledge of the evolution of the population data of the species and its geographical location. Since April 2009, ONCFS has carried out a systematic recording of burrows by GPS, which makes it possible to set up a systematic process of verification of “doubtous” burrows (deep observation, laying of traps with hair, fingerprints or photographic). Previously, all dubious burrows were excluded from the database without further verification. __Partner organisations__ DREAL Grand Est (Regional Directorate for the Environment, Development and Housing Grand-Est), ONCFS __Links annexes__ * [XML metadata view](http://ogc.geo-ide.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/csw/all-dataset?REQUEST=GetRecordById&SERVICE=CSW&VERSION=2.0.2&RESULTTYPE=results&elementSetName=full&TYPENAMES=gmd:MD_Metadata&OUTPUTSCHEMA=http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gmd&ID=fr-120066022-jdd-fa5a82c1-58ee-46b6-83d5-71736828572f) * [interactive cartography DREAL Alsace](http://carmen.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/5/Carte_Alsace.map) * [basic URL of wms/wfs services on the Internet](http://ogc.geo-ide.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/wxs?map=/opt/data/carto/geoide-catalogue/1.4/org_38152/78fb3f11-caa6-4cd4-8049-675e6930eaf6.internet.map) [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/d72efbc5b618371b0f77cca72dcdc04b7dccbda1)
