Dataset description

The forest fire hazard suffered is determined according to the combustibility of the stands and the factors of fire propagation. Level 1: lowest level Level 9: highest level A more precise forest fire hazard is being developed. __Origin__ A study on spatial zoning of forest fire risk was commissioned by the DDAF from the NFB in 2000. For this study, natural conditions predisposing to forest fires were chosen to say by expert. It is about vegetation, aerology and relief. Vegetation was apprehended by remote sensing and modelling of bioclimatic compartments. A stand map was drawn from a satellite image LANDSAT7 ETM+ dating from the summer of 1999. Each type of stand is assigned a combustibility index. The wind was taken into account from the surveys of the 10 aerology stations of Météo-France (Barcelonnette, Digne, Château-Arnoux, etc). The relief that has an accelerating effect on the spread of fires was retained (slope and position in the slope) from the IGN ALTI BD. Finally, these 3 layers of information are combined to create a global layer of hazard. L'alea undergone is expressed in 9 levels following calibration and validation with respect to the contours of past lamps. These 9 levels rank on a graduated scale that ranges from 1 to 9, moderate to very strong, the 1 being the lowest level. These data were collected as part of the prevention and control of forest fires and are not usable for d' other purposes. __Partner organisations__ DDT Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, ONF (Office National des Forêts) __Links annexes__ * [XML metadata view](http://ogc.geo-ide.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/csw/all-dataset?REQUEST=GetRecordById&SERVICE=CSW&VERSION=2.0.2&RESULTTYPE=results&elementSetName=full&TYPENAMES=gmd:MD_Metadata&OUTPUTSCHEMA=http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gmd&ID=fr-120066022-jdd-0063d6ad-c85e-4fab-a117-8b7f4e8214ce) * [basic URL of wms/wfs services on the Internet](http://ogc.geo-ide.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/wxs?map=/opt/data/carto/geoide-catalogue/1.4/org_37948/70583c1a-b407-495c-8bf1-0cdc63870bb3.internet.map) [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/38c60b09ac891b0de281ab2829a735a90c977c15)
