Dataset description

The European Short Selling Regulation (EU Regulation No 236/12 on short selling and certain aspects of credit default swaps, known as the VAD Regulation) regulates the conditions under which net short positions in shares are notified to the competent authorities and made public. In this context, the Autorité des marchés financiers shall make available to the public a file of historical data on net short positions published on each issuer under its jurisdiction. This file includes all historical data since 1 November 2012, the date of application of the above Regulation. Detailed information on the VAD Regulation and associated reporting can be found on the AMF website: [https://www.amf-france.org/fr/actualites-publications/dossiers-thematiques/ventes-decouvert](https://www.amf-france.org/fr/actualites-publications/dossiers-thematiques/ventes-decouvert) The data contained in the csv file is: — name of holder, — Lei of the holder, — name of issuer, — ISIN, — net short position (ratio between an investor’s net short position in a share expressed in number of shares and the number of securities issued by the issuer concerned), — position start date, — date of commencement of publication of the position, — end date of publication of the position. The.csv file, downloadable below, is updated daily to take into account J-1 publications, it is encoded in UTF-8. Please note that the LEI field (Legal Entity Identifier) is not required by regulation. It has been completed by the AMF but is not available throughout the database.
