Dataset description

Counts by Caf of the beneficiary households with a payable right to the birth premium or adoption of the Paje (early child care benefit). This bonus helps to cover the first expenses associated with the arrival of a child. More detailed information on the birth or adoption of the Paje can be found on caf.fr, by clicking on the following link: https://www.caf.fr/aides-et-services/s-informer-sur-les-aides/petite-enfance The recipient household is composed of the person in charge of the case (person who receives at least one benefit in view of his/her family and/or monetary situation), and all the other entitled persons within the meaning of the regulations in force (spouse, child(s) and other dependent person(s). Several recipient households may live together in the same place, and then constitute a single household within the meaning of the INSEE statistical definition. This is the case, for example, when a couple receives housing allowances and shelters their child with a minimum social Caf (RSO, RSA, AAH). In practice, the term “beneficiary” is often used instead of a “beneficiary home”. The paymentable duty means that the recipient household fulfils all the conditions to be effectively paid for the month of observation. In particular, beneficiaries who have not provided all their supporting documents, or those whose amount of benefit is below the payment threshold, are not included in this scope. The geographical field of observation of the dataset corresponds to the management CIF to which the recipient household is attached in the statistical file of recipients, at the time of extraction (approximately 6 weeks after the end of the month observed). Summary and analysis data as well as statistical and cartographic descriptions on birth or adoption of Paje are available in the data book of the CNAF (page 12) by clicking on the following link: http://www.caf.fr/sites/default/files/cnaf/Documents/Dser/cahier_donnees_sociales/CDS_2011.pdf#page=6 * labeled by the Authority of Public Statistics
