Dataset description

This indicator measures the ability of dune cords to protect the population residing in low-lying areas at the rear, at a depth of 400 m from the shoreline. The result is expressed in 4 levels d' population exposure: no d' exposure, moderate exposure, significant exposure, high exposure. __Origin__ The data used for the calculation of this indicator are as follows: — the Didune data created by the University of Nantes (2017 thesis of Martin Juigner " Geomatics at the service of l’' observation of the coast line &) s' support the 2011 NTM. This thesis proposes an overall protection index based on four indicators: S1: sensitivity to submersion of the 1st line cord; S2: sensitivity to coastal erosion of the 1st line cord; S3: sensitivity to submersion of the backdune; E1: exposure of issues to submersion. The index and the indicators are calculated on the sandy coastline segmented in ‘box’ 25 m wide and 400 m deep based on the coast line. For the calculation of this indicator, the right-of-way of the low areas by ‘box’ and the indicator S1 of the Didune data, the values of which are between 1 and 5 depending on whether the value of that indicator for the box is close to or far from the regional minimum. The value 1 represents a situation far from the regional minimum (thus robust) and the value 5 is a situation close to that minimum (so fragile). This data is intended to be updated when a new NTM is made available. — the Topo comic — themes "Building & and &Zone of activities " (source: IGN), — the IRIS outlines for population distribution (source: INSEE/IGN), — the 2015 population census (source: INSEE), — types of housing — permanent or secondary residences — from 2015 (source: INSEE), — the right-of-way of the campsites on the TRI Noirmoutier/Saint-Jean-de-Monts (built by the Cerema from data "camping" transmitted by the DDTM44, the stakes of the Vendée PPRL, the areas of activities and PAI & culture-leisure; from the Topo comic of l'IGN). __Partner organisations__ CEREMA [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/8b7a5f1e1404b38db0dcbd750e16efadfe8d8fd4)
