Dataset description

The Family Branch has put in place an observation and decision-making tool on the care of young children: “Measurement Indicators for Young Children” (IMAJE). Its objective is to help steer the development of the early childhood care policy by measuring the supply and demand of reception at different geographical levels (from the municipality to the national). This tool was released in 2009 within the Branch, and opens to broadcast in Open-data in 2016. The areas of analysis discussed are the host public, the offers and the use of reception methods, the appropriateness and tension that may exist in the territories. The data mobilised are those on Caf recipient families and on equipment, and those outside the Branch: MSA (Mutuality Sociale Agricole), Centre PajEmploi, National Education and Insee. Data on maternal assistants employed directly by parents are obtained from the Acoss Pajemploi Centre. They relate to the general and agricultural arrangements and provide detailed information on the hourly volumes and wages paid by the employers of maternal assistants, where parents report the hours of day-care. The field refers to direct employment and employers using an authorised service (excluding employers using a supplying company or micro-crèche). Places with maternal assistants are intended for children under 6 years of age. The dataset compiles the entire history (5 years), to select the reference year, use the variable DTREF. The geographical distribution represented is still on the last known geography.
