Institut de France and the five academies

The Institute and the academies are administered freely and enjoy financial autonomy under the sole supervision of the Court of Auditors. Fulfilling the mandate laid down by law for the second time, the Court again examined the management of the institutions of the Conti quay and the use of their assets during the years 2014 to 2020. In its previous report, published in 2015, the Court noted a worrying situation in many respects. Since then, some progress has been made in some areas. However, this progress remains limited and the recovery process is recent. The institutions of the Conti quay are now facing an unbalanced financial situation. The Court makes 19 recommendations.
