Dataset description

This layer represents the inventory of the rivers of the Vilaine watershed on Rennes Métropole. /!\ Attention, this layer covers all the municipalities of Rennes Métropole SAUF Miniac-sous-Bécherel and Bécherel. . It has been downloaded from the website of the Territorial Public Institution of Bassin Vilaine (EPTB Vilaine) at the following address: https://cartoweb.eptb-vilaine.fr/SageMonTerritoire/#iav-cours The data represents the state of knowledge of the rivers of the SAGE Vilaine. The law for the reconquest of biodiversity, nature and landscapes of 8 August 2016 amended the environmental code, incorporating article L215-7-1 which gives the definition of a watercourse. The preservation of watercourses first by an inventory. It is carried out at the scale of sub-watersheds. The identification of rivers makes it possible to better understand the basin heads, i.e., the upstream parts of the watersheds and by extension the upstream sections of the rivers that make up them. These areas are particularly important for the proper functioning of aquatic environments, biodiversity, water resources, physico-chemical quality, input and transfer of fine and coarse sediment downstream... Watershed heads are also particularly exposed to diffuse pollution and hydraulic facilities. More information on the EPTB website at: https://www.eptb-vilaine.fr/_MAPTOUR/LSDMT/PAGD_2015_courdo.pdf
