Dataset description

On 21 January 2015, the Court of Auditors published a report on the judicial protection of young people (PJJ) requested by the Senate Finance Committee pursuant to Article 58(2) of the Organic Law on Financial Laws. In a 2003 report, the Court found serious shortcomings in the organisation, management and management of the PJJ, as well as in its modes of care for minors. Since then, the PJJ has undergone a major reform movement, based on a major reorganisation, a refocus on criminal prosecution and the affirmation of its role in coordinating juvenile justice. However, several developments remain necessary to complete this refocusing, improve the regulation and financing of institutions, and concretely assess the effectiveness of the actions implemented. The Court makes ten recommendations to that effect. This report is available on [the Court’s website] (https://www.ccomptes.fr/fr/publications/la-protection-judiciaire-de-la-jeunesse-0). The published files correspond to the data used in the preparation of the report.
