Landscape subunits in Franche-Comté

Knowledge of regional landscapes. Characterisation and delimitation of landscape units. Preservation and consideration of landscapes during operations of ' spatial planning. Discovery of the landscape wealth of the region. In Franche-Comté, landscape units were defined during the work on the 1999 landscape atlas (26). Production of the dataset is complete. The map shows the 26 landscape units that were defined as part of the Franche-Comté landscape atlas in 1999. Landscape units are defined as landscapes carried by spatial entities including the ensemble of relief characters, d'hydrography, d' land use, of forms of ' habitat and vegetation has a homogeneity of #x27; aspect. They are distinguished from neighbouring units by a difference in presence, d' organisation or shape of its characters. Landscape units are further divided into landscape subunits. The delimitation of landscape units and subunits was carried out by the Faculty of Geography of Besançon (theMA laboratory) thanks to a cartographic analysis of the spatial components of the departments. The work of l'atlas was conducted by the CAUE (Conseils d''Architecture, d' Urbanism and d''Environment) of the Doubs, Jura and Haute-Saône as well as the Environment Service of the Department of the Territory of Belfort.
