Dataset description

The 2012 vintage legal populations come into force on January 1, 2015. Their statistical reference date is 1 January 2012. They are developed and disseminated for administrative districts existing on 1 January 2014 within their territorial limits on that date. For more information, see the Official Geographical Code (COG). The generic term of &legal populations " for each municipality, its municipal population, its population counted separately and its total population which is the sum of the two previous ones. Legal populations are defined by Decree No. 2003-485 published in the Official Gazette of 8 June 2003, on the population census. From now on, they are updated and authenticated by a decree every year.
