Dataset description

**Ministation data set compared to Airparif reference stations.** These data expose the hourly rate of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in µg/m³ measured by mini-stations in the 20th arrondissement, compared to those of 2 Airparif reference stations from 1 January to 31 December 2019. [Presentation of the project as part of the Participatory Budget of the City of Paris.](https://budgetparticipatif.paris.fr/bp/jsp/site/Portal.jsp?document_id=3821&portlet_id=158) [News launch of the project on the Airparif website](https://www.airparif.asso.fr/actualite/detail/id/254) Of the 13 reference stations of Airparif located in Paris, 2 stations were used to compare measurements of mini-stations: * BP Est (Boulevard Peripherique East), located near road traffic. * PA18, (Paris 18th) bottom station (far from direct sources of pollution). They are compared to 8 mini-stations spread over the 20th arrondissement. [Localisation of air quality measuring stations](https://capgeo.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=e9e8e1219f1f4972b99e2e69bd8dd34e) 2 mini-stations are located at the urban floor (far from direct sources of pollution): * Belleville Park * Père Lachaise Cemetery The others are stations close to road traffic. As an indication, the regulatory NO2 thresholds are 40 µg/m³ for chronic exposure and 200 µg/m³ for more unusual exposure. Please note: This data is part of an experiment. The mini-stations set up have been adjusted to obtain the most reliable data possible. Corrections made from Airparif reference stations approved for regulatory oversight for nitrogen dioxide (NO2). Some unreliable data are not published here, in particular: * Raw NO2 data for Loliée station had to be invalidated: they had too many inconsistencies and the profile of the site halfway between the bottom and the proximity to road traffic makes corrections too difficult. The additional data produced by broadcast tubes on the mini-station still allowed an analysis of the levels encountered at a greater time step (quarter and year) in the analysis bulletins. * Unlike NO2, measurements of fine particles (PM 2.5) via ministations proved to be too unreliable and were removed from analyses.
