The Ministry of the City, Youth and Sports, in liaison with other interested ministers and bodies, undertakes and coordinates the prevention, medical surveillance, research and education activities carried out with the assistance, in particular, of accredited sports federations, to ensure the protection of the health of athletes and to combat doping. The French Agency for Combating Doping (AFLD), an independent public authority with legal personality, defines and implements anti-doping actions. To this end, it cooperates with the World Anti-Doping Agency, with bodies recognised by it and having similar competences to its own and with international sports federations. It publishes an annual activity report and the 2015 report is freely available on the internet from the following page: https://www.afld.fr/wp-content/themes/afld/js/feuilletage/sources/indexPop.htm It is associated with international activities in the field of the fight against doping and provides its expertise to the State, in particular when drawing up the list of substances or methods prohibited under the International Convention against Doping in Sport adopted in Paris on 19 October 2005 or any other subsequent agreement which would have the same purpose and which would replace it.
