Dataset description

The notion of hazard corresponds to the probability that a given phenomenon will occur at a given site, during a reference period, reaching a qualifiable or quantifiable intensity. The characterisation of a hazard is based on the crossing of the foreseeable intensity of the phenomenon with its probability of occurrence. The intensity of the phenomenon corresponds to the extent of disorders, after-effects or nuisances likely to result from the dreaded phenomenon. The notion of probability of occurrence reflects the sensitivity of a site to be affected by any of the phenomena analysed. Mining hazards are mainly collapses, subsidences, settlement, slippage, gas emissions, warm-ups, floods, and water and soil pollution. __Origin__ The mining hazards are the result of the hazard assessment phases of the detailed hazard studies (EDA) carried out by GEODERIS (Public Expert on Mining Risks). This step of the EDA consists of prioritising the mining hazards that may affect an old mine site, based on their intensity and probability of foreseeable occurrence. __Partner organisations__ DREAL Pays de la Loire [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/14bd56ee11c346e03c9520cdf13c596a56c862ca)
