Dataset description

The BDNB (National Buildings Database) is a mapping of the existing building stock, built by geospatial crossing of some twenty databases from public bodies. Structured at the “building” mesh, it contains an identity card for each of the 20 million buildings, residential or tertiary. The BDNB is intended to be shared and to constitute an open repository, the basis for the development of multiple services supported by public and private actors, as well as a place to capitalise on existing buildings. [CSTB](https://www.cstb.fr/fr/) encourages the multiplication and diversity of BDNB use cases. It puts in place the conditions of openness and interoperability, and is available to project owners to support them in the implementation of their application. Possible areas of application include: thermal renovation of buildings, support for national and territorial public policies, circular economy, risk control, etc. The BDNB paves the way for a unified “Geo-commun” repository in co-production with all institutional partners and contributors, and provides technological support to the project [BatiD](https://eig.etalab.gouv.fr/defis/batid/). Its construction was initialised for the GO-Rénove project. Go-Rénove is one of the 9 projects of the programme [PROFEEL](https://programmeprofeel.fr/projets/go-renove/), supported by professional building organisations and financed by the Energy Saving Certificates, in support of the energy renovation of existing buildings. The Go-renove decision support services are the first operational application of the BDNB, on the theme of the renovation of the existing housing stock. Documentation, contact and discussions on this project on the BDNB project [Gitlab](https://gitlab.com/BDNB/base_nationale_batiment) Updates: — **v0.7.2** (22 November 2022): new relational model, more complete, better geospatial crossover between the different databases, taking into account the first remarks that have been made to us — **v0.6.2** (27 April 2022): republication of v06 data with release status publishing patches.
