Dataset description

Noise maps are defined by Article L.572-3 of the Environmental Code. The lot contains the geographical data of the noise zones, they are interoperable in accordance with Directive 2002/49/EC of 25 June 2002, transposed into French law by Articles L.572-1 to L.572-11 of the code de l'environment. Noise level areas describe a noise exposure situation based on a noise indicator or area affected by noise. They are mainly used for the preparation of strategic noise maps pursuant to Article R.572-5 of the Environmental Code. The noise levels emitted by a given infrastructure during an average day are evaluated using numerical models producing isophone curves translated into noise zones, according to the index recommended for all modes of transport at European level, namely the Lden index and the Ln index. __Origin__ Geographical layers developed by the Cerema (Centre d’Études et d’Expertise sur les Risks, Environment, Mobility and Development) at the request of the Ministry of the Environment, Energy and the Sea. In accordance with Article 2 of the Decree of 4 April 2006, the methodology used for drawing up maps is based on calculations based on acoustic modelling of the infrastructure and the propagation of noise in the riparian territories. It is in line with the recommendations contained in the methodological guide “Production of strategic noise maps of major roads and railways” published by the Cerema (formerly Service d’Études Techniques des Routes et Autoroutes — SETRA) in August 2007. These cartographic data respect the Geostandard "Night in the environment; (mapping of noise)”. However, the data were rebounded in a single layer per map type and acoustic index type for all road infrastructure. The following map data are available: — of “type a”: noise-exposed areas according to indicators Lden (full day) and Ln (night) in steps of 5 dB(A); — of “type b”: noise affected areas defined in the prefectural noise classification orders. — of “type c”: isophone curves exceeding the limit values in Lden (full day) and Ln (night). __Partner organisations__ DDT Gers __Links annexes__ * [XML metadata view](http://ogc.geo-ide.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/csw/all-dataset?REQUEST=GetRecordById&SERVICE=CSW&VERSION=2.0.2&RESULTTYPE=results&elementSetName=full&TYPENAMES=gmd:MD_Metadata&OUTPUTSCHEMA=http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gmd&ID=fr-120066022-jdd-017502d3-fef3-4f86-81c6-15c34334d760) [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/dfc6605b238a2d6d70b2422f163f2d6b6feec6a3)
