Dataset description

Annual number of self-employed persons at 31/12 between 2004 and 2020 by sector of activity, type of worker and occupational group. _Source_: Urssaf _Methodological details_: * These data include contributor accounts and not individuals. They do not include farmers, who are followed by the Central Caisse de la Mutualité sociale agricole (CCMSA). Furthermore, they concern all self-employed persons covered by the social protection of self-employed persons, which excludes self-employed persons who are not self-employed workers within the meaning of social protection: directors of certain companies (SA, SAS/SASU), corporate agents or minority managers of SARL, who are considered as employees (attached to the general scheme by Article L311-3 of the CSS). * For the professional exercise of his economic activity, the self-employed person (TI) may opt for the so-called ‘classical’ or self-entrepreneur (EI) status. This choice depends on the method of reporting and calculating contributions. Within the two statutes, several categories are identified, within the meaning of social security: craftsmen, traders, liberal professions. * Is considered to be **administratively active** an IT that has been registered before or during the year under review, whether or not it has reported positive income or turnover, and still recorded on December 31 of the year. * Is considered to be **economically active** an EA having declared a strictly positive turnover in the year under review. * The “nca _non-classified” occupational group includes IT for which the occupational group is unknown and, more marginally, IT whose cross-crossing IT Type x Sector x Occupational group does not respect statistical confidentiality. * The “_calage_” sector makes it possible to recalate the total number of classical IT and EI per occupational group in view of the reclassification of certain IT to the occupational group “nca _non_classified_” due to non-compliance with statistical confidentiality.
