Dataset description

Old posters kept at the Departmental Archives * * * The Departmental Archives of Hauts-de-Seine retains an important collection of posters, ranging from the French Revolution to the present day. This lot concerns posters listed in subseries 23 and 24 Fi (posters entered by extraordinary means: purchases, donations), as well as in the DR7 subseries (archives relating to the military affairs of communes of the Seine, and devolved to the department of Hauts-de-Seine following the reorganisation of the Paris region in 1964-1968). In this dataset, the Departmental Archives offers posters on the following themes: * War of 1870-1871 and Commune de Paris: posters on the unfolding of the conflict, daily life, then the unfolding of the Commune * War of 1914-1918: propaganda posters (borrowing, assistance) and administrative information posters to the populations of the communes of Hauts-de-Seine * War of 1939-1945: German, French state or resistance propaganda posters, administrative posters, including passive defense posters * Brands of cycles and automobiles, whose factories were located in Hauts-de-Seine * Advertising posters of the late 19th and early 20th century: * Brands of cycles and automobiles, whose factories were located in Hauts-de-Seine * Subdivisions * Power brands whose factories were established in Hauts-de-Seine * Entertainment venues, events, leisure
