Dataset description

Extraction of images of Paris from the collection of the “Archives de la Planet,” a set of still and animated images, made at the beginning of the 20th century, dedicated to the diversity of peoples and cultures and preserved by the Albert-Kahn Departmental Museum. * * * This dataset is entirely dedicated to images of Paris from the Archives de la Planet. It allows the exploration of autochromes recorded in the capital by banker and philanthropist operators Albert Kahn. The map offers you to discover nearly 5000 images precisely geolocated. The data have been updated to obtain accurate map rendering: the geopoint chosen is that of the operator’s position when shooting. Some series of the Paris fonds could not be processed because the information available for these images was insufficient to specify their location. These are mainly photographs of posters, views of the Seine in flood, the Bois de Boulogne or Vincennes, the works of the fortifications. In fact, the author is often unknown, the legend lean and the shooting leaves very little clues. **Related data** Open data platform of the Hauts-de-Seine Department [Planet Archive](https://opendata.hauts-de-seine.fr/explore/dataset/archives-de-la-planete/) (full dataset)
