Dataset description

This layer represents the hierarchisation of the roads of Rennes Métropole. The latter prioritises the sections of the road network that it manages in order to adapt its level of service to traffic, safety and management issues. 2 types of prioritisation are proposed: The hierarchy of the Directorate of Highways which breaks down into 5 levels: \- National road; \- Transit network; \- Structuring network; \- Distribution network; \- Service network. => the “Transit Network” corresponds to the strategic network with 4 axes converging towards Rennes and the second Rennes belt (formerly departmental roads of category A and B); => the “structural network” corresponds to the network structuring the metropolis and the municipalities (former departmental roads of category C, and old communal roads of type arterial roads, belt of service of agglomeration, road structuring the urban area); => the “Distribution Network” corresponds to the distribution grid at the level of a district or municipality (former departmental roads of category D, and former municipal roads of the type of distribution roads, municipal main track, main road outside agglomeration, urban service route); => the “Service Network” corresponds to the end mesh of intra-quartier proximity or rural service (former municipal roads of the type of service roads, inter-neighborhood track, local service track). The prioritisation of the Urban Travel Plan (PDU) which breaks down into 6 levels: \- National network; \- Rebar network; \- Support network; \- Main distribution network; \- Secondary distribution network; \- Service network. This layer is represented in the form of 2 styles on the Geographic Data Portal.
