Dataset description

Pursuant to the Law on Higher Education and Research of 12 July 2013, higher education and research institutions have put in place statistical mechanisms to monitor the professional situation of doctors. The data presented are from one of them, the IP Doc survey (Professional Insertion of Doctors). After a first experimental device conducted in 2016 evaluating the professional integration of graduate doctors in 2012, the data presented came from the IP Doc 2017 survey. It took place in the first half of 2018, questioning the 2014 doctoral graduates about their professional situation one year and three after graduation. The survey was conducted by doctoral schools or university community and institutions (ComUE) and the overall coordination and operation of the survey are carried out by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. The integration rate is defined as the percentage of graduates in any job, of all graduates present in the labour market. It is calculated on graduates of 2014 regardless of their nationality, age and place of residence once the diploma has been obtained. The information collected on the salary shall focus primarily on the net monthly salary, including bonuses. Salaries are calculated for doctors in full-time employment in France. In early 2020, large university ensembles were created or modified by decrees, pursuant to the Ordinance on Experimental Institutions. Within these new universities, institutions are now integrated as members or components, whose doctors are therefore counted as graduates in these groups. Therefore, the results on the professional integration of doctors are also presented according to these large sets, within the limits of the data available. In addition, other research institutions or organisations participate in the new university ensembles by association or partnership, but this wider scope is not adopted here. Institutions that have collected responses from fewer than 3 doctors within the same discipline are not included in these aggregates. _Legende_: NS = not significant nd = not available _Source_: National survey on the professional integration of doctors (IP Doc). _Collect_: survey carried out by higher education institutions awarding doctorates. Treatment and synthesis carried out by the MESRI — SIES. _Champ_: doctors graduated in 2014 in whole France regardless of their nationality, age and place of residence once the diploma has been obtained (excluding doctors in medicine, pharmacy and dental surgery).
