Dataset description

Pursuant to the Law on Higher Education and Research of 12 July 2013, higher education and research institutions have put in place statistical mechanisms to monitor the professional situation of doctors. The data presented are from one of them, the IP Doc (Professional Insertion of Doctors) survey. After a first experimental scheme carried out in 2016 assessing the professional integration of graduate doctors in 2012, the data presented came from two campaigns. The IP Doc 2017 survey took place in the first half of 2018, asking doctoral graduates of 2014 about their employment status one year and three after graduation. The survey was conducted by doctoral schools or university community and institutions (ComUE) and overall coordination and operation of the survey is carried out by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. The IP Doc 2019 survey took place in the first half of 2020, asking 2016 doctoral graduates about their professional status one year and three after graduation. The survey was conducted by doctoral schools or public experimental institutions (EPE) and the overall coordination and operation of the survey is carried out by the Ministry responsible for higher education, research and innovation. The integration rate is defined as the percentage of graduates in any job out of all graduates in the labour market. It is calculated on graduates from 2014 and 2016 regardless of their nationality, age and place of residence after graduation. The information collected on the salary shall focus primarily on the monthly net salary, including premiums. Salaries are calculated for doctors working full-time in France. _Legend_: NS = not significant _Source_: National survey on the professional integration of doctors (IP Doc). _Collecte_: survey carried out by higher education institutions issuing doctorates. Processing and synthesis carried out by MESRI — SIES. _Champ_: doctors graduated in 2014 in France, regardless of their nationality, age and place of residence after graduation (excluding doctors in medicine, pharmacy and dental surgery).
