The Ombudsman seeks to settle amicably the disputes before him, between users and the regional administration. It acts with due regard for the rule of law and with due regard for fairness. It is also responsible for proposing reforms aimed at improving the services provided to users.
The data are derived from the annual activity reports of the mediator of the Île-de-France Region.
For each year since 2014, the following are indicated:
* The number of referrals (total, falling within the competence of the Ombudsman of the Region, not competent)
* The method of referral (e-mail, postal mail)
* Typology of applicants (natural persons, legal persons)
* Geographical distribution (IDF departments, excluding IDF)
* The subject of the requests
* Breakdown by field of activity
* The follow-up given to referrals (requests satisfied, unsatisfied requests, no further action)
* The distribution of requests outside the competence of the Ombudsman (other mediators, local and regional authorities, state...)
