Dataset description

Regional State aid is reserved for specific geographical areas (territories lagging behind in development) and has as its specific objective the economic development of these areas through support for investment and the creation of employment. The European Commission has adopted the French map of regional aid areas (AFR) for the period 2014-2020, implemented by Decree No 2014-758 of 02-07-2014. It replaces the map of AFR 2007-2013 areas expiring on 30 June 2014. This new map delineates the areas, conditions and limits within which the State and local authorities will be able to allocate investment and job creation aid to enterprises. It determines the ceiling rates for investment aid which vary according to the fragility of the territories, in accordance with European rules: — 10 % of the cost of productive investment for large companies in metropolitan France; — 45 to 70 % of the cost of productive investment for large enterprises in the overseas departments; — rate increases of 10 % for medium-sized enterprises and 20 % for small enterprises are foreseen in each of these areas. AFR zones are eligible until 31/12/2020. For more information, see the CGET website. __Origin__ Source: CGET, Decree No. 2014-758 of 02/07/2014.
