The Chambers of Agriculture are establishments of original status: “consular” organisation as well as Chambers of Commerce and Trades. They have a status as a public institution but are led by elected professionals representing the main players in the agricultural, rural and forestry sector. As such, they have a specificity defined by law, enjoy administrative autonomy and are subject to the supervision of the public authorities. The Chambers of Agriculture are present throughout the French territory at the departmental, regional and national level and overseas.
