Registered Sites of Lorraine

The dataset contains the perimeters of the registered sites of Lorraine. A registered site is a site or “natural monument whose conservation or preservation presents an artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or picturesque point of view, a public interest”. The objectives are the conservation or preservation of '' natural or built spaces of interest according to the criteria defined by law (artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or picturesque). L'' inscription either concerns sites deserving of?#x27;' be protected but not of sufficient interest to justify their classification, or is a precautionary measure prior to classification. In addition, it can be a flexible management tool for the built parts of '' a site classified as l'' often waiting for?#x27;' a ZPPAUP. Finally, it can also be a tool adapted to the preservation of small rural heritage in areas under little land pressure (mandatory demolishment permit). With the exception of the most recent objects, digitised on the IGN fragmentary BD, the objects have been digitised on SCAN 25 IGN.
