Regulatory limits of the Port Public Maritime Domain transferred to the Department

The General Council of the Gironde, licensor of the Public Maritime Harbour manages 22 departmental ports located on the Gironde estuary and the Arcachon Basin. In the sense of the transfer of skills, ports are departmental when they host a professional activity related to maritime trades. Some departmental ports are managed under direct management by the department, others are granted to the municipalities.A concession agreement specifies the management and operation arrangements between the General Council and the concessionaire. However, ports are subject to a regulatory delimitation on the Maritime Public Domain.This delimitation is carried out by the State services and validated according to a complex regulatory procedure. When transferring the management of ports from the State to the Department, it is these limits that have been taken into account and in which the power of port police apply. The Department is therefore vested with port police power (AIPP) within the limits represented by these data.
