Dataset description

In each department, the prefect is responsible for identifying and classifying land transport infrastructure according to their acoustic characteristics and traffic (Articles L 571-10 and R571-32 to R571-43 of the Environmental Code). Land transport infrastructure is classified into 5 categories, with category 1 being the loudest. Each category is associated with an area width affected by noise and a noise level to be taken into account by manufacturers for the facade insulation to be implemented. __Origin__ The sound classification of the transport infrastructure of the department of Ain was developed by a bureau d' specialised studies in acoustics in application of the technical standards in force on the basis of data provided by the managers of infrastructures (SNCF Réseau, APPR, ATMB, Department, communes). The calculation is based in particular on traffic, the share of heavy goods vehicles, road surface and speed. The ranking is based on traffic estimates at 20 years. Note the following limits on the accuracy of these layers: — there is not always a perfect superposition between the sound classification and the IGN (BD Ortho and BD Topo): a lag can be observed between the route of the sound classification and the sectors affected by the noise, with the image plane backgrounds (SCAN25 or BDOrtho of the IGN as appropriate). Online mapping is provided for information purposes and only the tables annexed to the Prefectural Order are authentic — buffers are calculated from the median axis of the tracks, whereas in reality the limits of sectors affected by noise must be calculated in part of the side of the road or the rail (source of noise), so one can have an error of a few meters for conventional roads, or even more for motorways. __Partner organisations__ DDT Ain __Links annexes__ * [XML metadata view](http://ogc.geo-ide.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/csw/all-dataset?REQUEST=GetRecordById&SERVICE=CSW&VERSION=2.0.2&RESULTTYPE=results&elementSetName=full&TYPENAMES=gmd:MD_Metadata&OUTPUTSCHEMA=http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gmd&ID=fr-120066022-ldd-5c1e63dc-0afb-400a-a9c8-8a206ab04fc3) * [page on the sound classification of the website of the Prefecture of l'Ain](http://www.ain.gouv.fr/nouveau-classement-sonore-du-departement-de-l-ain-a3841.html) * [dynamic map of the sound classification of transport infrastructure of the Ain](http://carto.geo-ide.application.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/100/classement_sonore_infra_transport_ain.map#) [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/ba2213982a476b7ee53e7c897f18f4d72884a954)
