Dataset description

Introduced by an analysis of the overall state of public finances at the end of January 2019, Volume I of the Court of Auditors’ 2019 Annual Public Report sets out a selection of observations followed by recommendations, concrete measures to improve the use of public funds and the efficiency of public services. Its ten chapters are grouped around four themes: public finances, public policies, public management and territories. They highlight failures, but also progress and successes. Volume II presents the follow-up given by jurisdictions, communities and other controlled bodies to the observations and recommendations made in previous years. Twelve chapters are then grouped into three categories, depending on the degree of implementation of the recommendations, materialised by three colours: green (The Court finds progress), orange (The Court insists) and red (The Court alerts). Two chapters detail the follow-up to the recommendations for the Court and for the regional and territorial chambers of accounts. Finally, Volume III presents the organisation and tasks of the Court and the regional and territorial chambers of accounts. This report is available on [the Court’s website] (https://www.ccomptes.fr/fr/publications/le-rapport-public-annuel-2019). The published files correspond to the data used in the preparation of the report.
