Dataset description

Starting in April 2010, Éric Woerth, French Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Public Service of the government led by François Fillon, prepared a bill to reform the pension system, including a postponement of the statutory retirement age from 60 to 62. On the initiative of the workers’ unions, a social movement opposed to this reform was launched from May 2010. Several days of strikes and demonstrations took place, giving prominence to the protest until November 2010, a month after the adoption of the reform by Parliament. During 2010, the Foundation for Political Innovation organised two successive surveys to monitor the evolution of opinion on this major social issue.
