Dataset description

This dataset lists the location of urban furniture dedicated to public expression (free display sign) and made available to the public by the City of Anglet. **Free display regulations** Free display was regulated by Law No. 79-1150 of [29](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/29_d%C3%A9cembre “29 December”) [December](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9cembre_1979 “December 1979”) [1979](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979 “1979”) and by Implementing Decree No. 82-220 of [25](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/25_f%C3%A9vrier “25 February”) [February] (February 1982) [1982](-“1982”); it is currently governed by Articles L. 581-13, R. 581-2 and R. 581-3 of the [Environment Code](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_de_l%27environnement_\(France\) “Environment Code \(France\)”). Municipalities are required to inform citizens (directly or upon request) of the free expression locations available in their territory. In principle, these display locations in various forms ([panel](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enseigne_\(signal\) “Ensign \(signal\)”), [column Morris](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonne_Morris “Morris Column”), wall, etc.) must be reserved for associations or anyone wishing to make a free non-profit or commercial advertisement. Some municipalities reserve signs by type of display by distinguishing these three categories: * political expression display; * associative display; * free expression. In most municipalities, public opinion and non-profit associations are permitted on construction palisades (Article L581-16 of the Environmental Code). Article R581-2 Environmental Code The minimum area that each municipality must, under the provisions of the second paragraph of [Article L. 581-13](https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichCodeArticle.do?cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006074220&idArticle=LEGIARTI000006834707&dateTexte=&categorieLien=cid), reserve for the posting of opinions and advertising relating to the activities of non-profit associations is as follows: (1) 4 square meters for municipalities with less than 2 000 inhabitants; (2) 4 square meters plus 2 square meters per 2 000 inhabitants over 2,000 inhabitants, for communes of 2 000 to 10 000 inhabitants; 3° 12 square meters plus 5 square meters per 10 000 inhabitants over 10,000 inhabitants, for other municipalities.
