Dataset description

Urban planning agencies were born with the Land Orientation Act (LOF) of 1967. Created on the basis of volunteering and under associative status, they mainly appeared in large French agglomerations. The law on planning and sustainable development of the territory adopted in June 1999 and the Urban Solidarity and Renewal Act of 13 December 2000 have redefined the tasks of the agencies; urban planning as follows: ‘Communities, public institutions of inter-municipal cooperation and local and regional authorities may set up with the State and public institutions or other bodies which contribute to the planning and development of their territory, think-tanks and study bodies called ‘urban planning agencies’. The task of these agencies is to observe and analyse urban developments, to participate in the definition of planning and development policies and in the elaboration of urban planning documents (in particular the Territorial Coherence Schemas) and to prepare agglomeration projects for the purpose of harmonising public policies. They thus provide a common framework for carrying out studies and the conduct of certain tasks by competent public authorities. Urban planning agencies are grouped within the National Federation of Urbanism Agencies (FNAU). An agreement between FNAU and L & #x27 was signed on 23 October 2008 to promote the sustainable city around five strands: mastering urbanisation and renewing the city, developing a housing offer adapted to the current and future needs of the population, introducing and developing nature in urban spaces, promoting sustainable mobility policies and building shared tools of ' observation and d' evaluation. §The 4 agencies of Breton urban planning decline these commitments in their partnership programme of activities. Each agency can transcend institutional boundaries to intervene at an appropriate territorial scale and conduct studies on larger areas interacting with its perimeter. The 4 Breton agencies are also conducting studies at the regional scale. __Origin__ The map of agencies d' urban planning is carried out by l' assembling the perimeters of public institutions of intercommunal cooperation (EPCI).
