Dataset description

Bicycle routes and greenways are part of a national policy pursued by the Ministry of Ecology in favour of the development of cycling and cycling tourism. The Geostandard offers an information core describing the national network of bicycles and greenways. It is intended to provide a common framework for bicycle GIS for their data exchange. A cycle route is a medium- or long-distance cycle route, continuous (without interruption, including in cities), staked and secure. Bicycle routes take all kinds of secure lanes, including greenways. Greenways correspond to a category of cycling development. A green lane is not a bicycle route. The title “Véloroutes” would have been better adapted to designate the theme of this Geostandard. The designation “veloroutes and greenways” was nevertheless retained for reasons of communication, referring to the national scheme and the eponymous regional schemes in France. The Geostandard describes cycle routes as a cycling network. The cycle route network consists of different localised cycling components: • The cycle route: structuring elements of the network, cycling routes represent the cycle routes inscribed in a scheme for the development of the European, national (SN3V), regional (SR3V) or departmental cycle network. • The cycling portion: each cycle route is stretched into a number of bicycle portions. These cycling portions indicate the steps, variants, deviations of a cycle route. • The cycling segment: the thinnest part of the cycle network, a cycling segment is a cycling segment identifiable by its geometry, progress level and equipment level. Some use low-traffic road sections, others benefit from infrastructure reserved for soft travel modes (cycling path, greenway). • The point of reference for cycling: it identifies the characteristic nodes of the network. __Origin__ Set of the 4 tables of the cycle route network: N_3V_PORTION_L_088, N_3V_REPERE_P_088, N_3V_SEGMENT_L_088 and N_3V_ITINERAIRE_088 (attribute table), to which s#x27; add the tourist information layer N_3V_SERVICE_P_088 __Partner organisations__ DDT Vosges __Links annexes__ * [XML metadata view](http://ogc.geo-ide.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/csw/all-dataset?REQUEST=GetRecordById&SERVICE=CSW&VERSION=2.0.2&RESULTTYPE=results&elementSetName=full&TYPENAMES=gmd:MD_Metadata&OUTPUTSCHEMA=http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gmd&ID=fr-120066022-ldd-c7d64b3d-7119-44c8-906b-00c936809904) * [COVADIS data standard: Veloroutes and Greenways v1.0](http://www.geoinformations.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/standard-de-donnees-covadis-veloroutes-et-voies-a2715.html) * [map — The cycling network in the Vosges department](http://carto.geo-ide.application.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/340/velo.map) [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/dee6d10df2dc5b36621e5b0ce0a39fe6ed1f031d)
