Wetlands — Upper Garonne inventory

* * Wetlands are transitional areas between land and water that host many animal and plant species * * *. * * The Environmental Code defines them as “land, whether or not cultivated, usually inundated or gorged with fresh water, salted or brackish on a permanent or temporary basis; vegetation, where it exists, is dominated by hygrophile plants for at least part of the year”. * * * * * The Directorate for the Ecological Transition * * of the Haute-Garonne County Council has drawn up a departmental inventory of wetlands, finalised in 2016. This inventory is informative and not regulatory. It reflects the state of the art but is not intended to be exhaustive. The dataset presents the contours of the Haute-Garonne wetlands, their summary description and the methodology used to carry out the inventory.
