Dataset description

Location of areas of hardwood or softwood cutting on the Dordogne department between 2013 and 2014 in view of facilitating the organisation of cutting controls on the department. The controls focus on softwood cuts whose owners are in the #x27; obligation, within 5 years, to reconstitute the stand. The creation of this data s' is part of a request from the Ministry of Agriculture, L' Agri-Food and Forestry, for the development of #x27; a method of detecting clean cuts using free software (qgis) and free satellite data. __Origin__ Data were created for DDT40 in order to establish a plan to control logging and clearing. They are derived from the comparison of two covers of satellite images. The images for 2012 and 2014 are Landsat multispectral images 8 to 30 m of pixel resolution. They are provided by the USGS Earth Explorer platform. The steps to create the data are: — Targeting forest areas through the forest mask of l'IGN. — Radiometric correction of satellite covers — Calculation of a vegetation index image for each cover — Production of 'an image difference in vegetation indices — Thresholding of l'image difference — Verification by visual inspection and classification of cuts into classes (1: cut certain, 2: probable cut, 3: clearing, 5: cuts from the previous period) — Morphological treatment, elimination of small surfaces and clustering of isolated pixels — Contour vectorisation — Manual verification of areas detected in cut at l'using satellite images and Ortho comics of l'IGN. __Partner organisations__ DRAAF Nouvelle-Aquitaine __Links annexes__ * [XML metadata view](http://ogc.geo-ide.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/csw/all-dataset?REQUEST=GetRecordById&SERVICE=CSW&VERSION=2.0.2&RESULTTYPE=results&elementSetName=full&TYPENAMES=gmd:MD_Metadata&OUTPUTSCHEMA=http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gmd&ID=fr-120066022-jdd-42c24a3e-dd48-4322-8a6f-c6a47b7f1a3f) * [cards of shave cuts in Gironde and Landes between 2012 and 2014](http://carto.geo-ide.application.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/228/CoupesRases_20122014_R72.map?&extent=327589,6277207,487615,6511052) [See this page on geo.data.gouv.fr](https://geo.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/3364383ec10cb5e8ba0ffd42da4446baf3773dcb)
